better inventory management ( seriously, this was the MOST frustrating ever)

I tried to be as neutral as i could during this review, but it is not worth the 15€ right now. It is not yet release ready.įun Fact: To crash the game for a player, just destroy the fire when a person is lighting it - it will crash the game for them and they cannot move anymore - in this state of the game it should not have that type of bug. Overall in this state i cannot recommend this game one bit and would advise to play the much older "The Forest" which is really fun in comparison to this mess that currently is 1.0 according to my information, but feels like 0.1 to be honest. The leveling system is completely bogus - you sometimes get a "you have leveled something" and nothing happens - but you can suddenly build something new. it also felt extremely clunky and the fight itself did not have the feeling of having achieved anything but having done something wrong.

We fought the first boss before we knew what was happening and suddenly it was dead. The item weight is completely irrelevant (stack boxes and pack them into the inventory - done!) but thats just a joke. HARD to find and the inventory is the worst i have ever come across in my time. Obviously it is directly compared to "The Forest", "Valheim" and others out there, but Stranded Deep cannot keep up with those giants. Basically a good idea but not at all depth that i would have expected from a game this age. Then we had to go to the next island and so on. after a few moments of gameplay ( we directly started as 2 people ) and then had the first island chopped to sticks and a few plants in a meager second. I had a good feeling to start this game - the general atmosphere was good and the start of the game also seemed good. Thanks so much again to everyone who has been a part of the journey. You’ve enabled us to secure our future as a studio and we’re looking forward to taking everything we’ve learned from this experience and using it to grow bigger and better. All of you have helped grow Stranded Deep into something bigger than the two of us ever could have expected. And of course, our publishing brothers at North Beach Games who have been with us since 2015 and supported us every step of the way. Everyone at Steam, Epic, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo has been great to work with and they’ve given us opportunities that we never would have dreamed of. It’s also been a great experience working with the big first parties and the people behind them. We’ve made friends with the teams at Funlabs and Abstraction who worked hard to bring the game to consoles. We’ve met some amazing people along the way. I remember the Steam Greenlight concept with the little raft on the ocean… we never could have guessed the community would get behind it the way they did. We had no previous industry experience, we were just two kids with a cool idea who wanted to make their first game.

Ben and I originally started this project out of our back rooms. The game and community has grown far beyond anything we ever could have expected. We’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported us. We have some remaining multiplayer issues to fix and we have a dedicated team working on fixing these. We’ve achieved our high-level goals and are now focusing on stability and quality-of-life fixes. The release of 1.0 represents that Stranded Deep is feature complete. Today marks the 1.0 release of Stranded Deep!
